Promotion Policy W.E.F the Academic Year 2019-20

Promotion Policy W.E.F the Academic Year 2019-20 Promotion of students from one grade to another will be based on the student’s academic performance and attendance. Promotion is granted on the basis of the performance of the pupil during the entire academic year.

Classes I to V

For the purpose of promotion to the next higher grade, the following points will be adhered to:

  • A student must secure at least 33% marks out of 80 marks in each subject in the Annual Examination conducted by the school
  • It is also mandatory for the student to secure 33% marks out of overall 20 marks of Internal Assessment in each subject
  • A student getting below 33% out of 80 marks in two subjects will be eligible for ‘Compartment examination’. The student will be eligible for promotion to the next higher grade only if he/she secures at least 33% marks out of 80 marks in the compartment examination. Otherwise the student will be detained in the same class.
  • A student scoring below 33% out of 80 marks in more than two subjects in the Annual Examination will be detained in the same class.
  • A student must have attended school with minimum 75% attendance to be eligible to appear in the Annual Examination and for promotion to the next higher grade.

Classes VI to VIII

For the purpose of promotion to the next higher grade, the following points will be adhered to:

  • A student must secure at least 33% marks out of 80 marks in each subject in the Annual Examination conducted by the school.
  • It is also mandatory for the student to secure 33% marks out of overall 20 marks of Internal Assessment in each subject.
  • A student getting below 33% out of 80 marks in two subjects will be eligible for ‘Compartment examination’. The student will be eligible for promotion to the next higher grade only if he/she secures at least 33% marks out of 80 marks in the compartment examination. Otherwise the student will be detained in the same class.
  • A student scoring below 33% out of 80 marks in more than two subjects in the Annual Examination will be detained in the same class.
  • A student must have attended school with minimum 75% attendance to be eligible to appear in the Annual Examination and for promotion to the next higher grade.

Class IX

 As per the Assessment structure and examination pattern of class IX, students will be assessed on the entire syllabus of the Academic Year. Promotion to the next higher grade is subject to the following:

  • A student must secure at least 33% marks out of 80 marks in each subject in the Annual Examination conducted by the school.
  • It is also mandatory for the student to secure 33% marks out of overall 20 marks of Internal Assessment in each subject.
  • In case the student has secured less than 33% out of 80 marks in one subject only, the student will be eligible for ‘Compartment examination’. The student will be eligible for promotion to the next higher grade only if he/she secures at least 33% marks out of 80 marks in the compartment examination. Otherwise the student will be detained in the same class.
  • In case the student has secured less than 33% out of 80 marks in two or more subjects, the student will not be eligible for ‘compartment’ examination and will be detained in the same class.
  • Students have to obtain a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible to appear in the Annual Examination and for promotion to the next higher grade.

Class XI

  • A student must secure at least 33% in all the subjects in theory in the Annual Examination as well as in practical’s/projects/internal assessment, separately, for fulfilling the pass criteria.
  • In case the student has secured less than 33% in one subject only, in theory in the Annual Examination and/or in practical’s/projects/internal assessment, the student will be eligible for ‘Compartment examination’. The student will be eligible for promotion to the next higher grade only if he/she secures at least 33% marks out of 80 marks in the compartment examination. Otherwise the student will be detained in the same class.
  • In case the student has secured less than 33% in two or more subjects in theory in the Annual Examination and/or in practical’s/projects/internal assessment, the student will not be eligible for ‘Compartment examination’ and will be detained in the same class.
  • Students have to obtain a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible to appear in the Annual Examination and for promotion to the next higher grade.
