FOUNDER’S DAY AND 99TH JAYANTHI CLELEBRATIONS OF H.H. JAGADGURU RAJAGURUTHILAGA DR. SRI SHIVARATHRI RAJENDRA MAHASWAMIJI-A REPORT.

The 99th Jayanthi celebrations of H H Jagadguru Rajaguruthilaga Dr.Sri. Shivarathri Ragendra Mahaswamiji was celebrated at the “Founder’s Day” on Wednesday the 27th of Aug 2014.

The day began with a special pooja being offered. This was followed by the inauguration of the Arts and Science exhibition by Mr. George John, The Principal of Mountain Home School and Junior College, Coonoor.

In his address to the Students’ Mr. George John emphasized the Students’ to bring out their best in themselves through the medium of Art. Mr.George John along with other dignitaries, guests and Students went around the Art and Science exhibition and were generally flabbergasted by the Student’s exhibits.

Following this the Staf enthralled the audience with their singing and bhajans dedicated to H.H. Dr.Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji.

As is customary every year an Inter School “Fold Dance” competition was organized to commensurate the occasion. Students from Stanes Higher Secondary School. Coonoor,Mrs. Bulmoore’s matriculation School, Coonoor, The Army School, Wellington, Nazreth Convent, Ooty, Gurukulam School, Ooty, Brindavan Public School, Wellington, and Woodside School, Ooty competed for the prestigious Founder’s Day award. Woodside School, Ooty came out triumphant, followed by Stanes Higher Secondary School, Conoor, and in third place was Nazreth convent, Ooty.

The Founder’s Day address was delivered by Dr.B.S. Basavarajaiah, Princiapl (Retd) KREC, (NITK), Surathkal.

He enumerated in detail the life and deeds of H.H. Swami while the Students’ listened spellbound, as Dr. Basuvarajaiah, spoke abount numerous incidents in Swami’s life sharing how caring HH was towards the poor and the downtrodden.

Post lunch session, the Parents, Guests and Students’ assembled in the auditorium for a variety entertainment programme, performed by the Students’ of JSSIS-Ooty, kept the audience in good humor and laughter.

An enlightening day came to an end at 4.00 p m with Parents and Guests departing the campus.
