JSS International School had organized an educational tour to God’s Own Country, Kerala from 28th September, 2017 to 3rd October 2017. The best time of the year it was to visit Kerala. The lush green landscapes, with coconut trees along the backwaters were a real treat to the eyes and hearts. The places of visit were Cochin, Alleppey, and Trivandrum. At Cochin, Fort Cochin, the Jew town, Wellington Island and Bolghatty Palace were visited. The boat side was an amazing fabulous with the antiquities and its vividness. The much awaited place of visit in the tour was ‘Wonderla’ – a water theme park. Every ride and game was thoroughly enjoyed. The trip to Alleppey was astounding. The serenity of the place, enjoyed on a house-boat ride was breath taking. The hamlets on the river banks, dwellers and their occupation were truly inspiring from which one could understand the beautiful life they lived. The Kerala cuisine was relished especially the fish curry prepared in the authentic style. The beaches at Cochin, Alleppey and Kovalam were most enjoyable. The visit to Padmanabhaswamy temple at Trivandrum was stupendous. One could ponder over the architectural design of the temple which is an intricate fusion of the indigenous Kerala style and the Dravidian style. The blessings of Lord Vishnu were sought and the historical background of the temple was learnt. The Trivandrum zoo with its woodland, lakes, lawns and not to forget the animals, birds and reptiles were terrific.
A memorable trip it was for the students as well as the teachers.
